Volume 4 – North Wales Narrow Gauge Steam 1959/60

This volume takes Ivo Peter’s coverage of Britain’s railways into a new realm – the fascinating narrow gauge railways of North Wales. After a brief visit to BRs last narrow gauge line at Aberystwyth, we see the earliest days of the Talyllyn and Festiniog. Before the major part of the programme explores the long lost slate quarry railways – the Penrhyn and the Padarn and Dinorwic quarries. Each railway is covered in detail, with lineside trips up the lines and the slate quarries fully explored. Route maps shown on the inner DVD case sleeve. Originally released in 1988, the programme has been totally remastered. Some minor picture and sound editing has taken place to enhance this very popular programme.

The pictorial material in this programme has been prepared from the original 1” tape, transferred to digital Betacam and then re-edited.
