Ivo Peters first visited the Isle of Man in 1962 (see Volume Nine). In 1963 he spent the first week in July on the island, when he filmed and photographed both the north and south lines out of Douglas.

The DVD looks at the general daily maintenance of the locomotives, along with the sorting of stock for the day’s running. We then travel the southern line towards Port Erin, followed by the northern route, first to St Johns and then on towards Peel and Ramsey. Ivo filmed at most of the stations as well as many locations between, including the two viaducts on the Ramsey line and “the race” out of St Johns, with his customary unerring eye for a beautiful setting.

A map of the island showing the railway, plus a complete listing of all the steam locomotives on the Isle of Man Steam Railway, is on the inside of this cover.
